How to downgrade your Zenovay subscription and understand what happens to your data and features.

If you need to reduce your subscription, this guide explains how to downgrade and what to expect.

How Downgrading Works

When It Takes Effect

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle:

  • You keep current plan features until then
  • No refund for unused time
  • New rate applies at next billing date

Example Timeline

Current: Scale plan ($90/month), renews Jan 15 Downgrade: To Pro on Jan 5 Result:

  • Scale access until Jan 14
  • Pro access starts Jan 15
  • Charged $20 on Jan 15

How to Downgrade

Go to Billing Settings

Navigate to Settings → Billing.

Click Change Plan

Click "Change Plan" or "Manage Subscription."

Select Lower Plan

Choose the plan you want to downgrade to.

Review Impact

Review what features and limits will change.

Confirm Downgrade

Click "Confirm Downgrade" to schedule the change.

Review the impact carefully before confirming. Some data may be affected.

Features not in your new plan become unavailable:

Preparing to Downgrade

Export Your Data

Before downgrading, export what you need:

  1. Go to Analytics → Export
  2. Select full date range
  3. Download CSV or JSON
  4. Store safely

Reduce Websites

If going below website limit:

  1. Go to Domains
  2. Archive or delete extra websites
  3. Keep most important ones active

Reduce Team Members

If going below team limit:

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Remove extra members
  3. Ensure key people remain

Note Active Features

Before losing features:

  • Export goal data
  • Download session recordings (if possible)
  • Save heatmap screenshots
  • Export any reports

  • History reduced to 1 year
  • Most historical data deleted

Combines both impacts - significant feature and data loss.

Canceling Downgrade

Before It Takes Effect

You can cancel a scheduled downgrade:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Find "Scheduled Downgrade" notice
  3. Click "Cancel Downgrade"
  4. Current plan continues

After It Takes Effect

To return to a higher plan:

  • Upgrade normally
  • Features restore immediately
  • Deleted data cannot be recovered

Billing Questions

Will I Get a Refund?

No refunds for downgrading mid-cycle. You keep access until the cycle ends.

What About Annual Plans?

Downgrading annual plans:

  • Contact support
  • May receive partial credit
  • Depends on remaining time

Can I Pause Instead?

There's no pause option, but:

  • Free plan has no cost
  • Data kept within retention limits
  • Upgrade anytime to restore features

Alternatives to Downgrading

Reduce Usage Instead

If hitting event limits:

  • Remove unnecessary tracking
  • Filter out bot traffic
  • Track fewer pages

Optimize Team

If team limit is the issue:

  • Remove inactive members
  • Share accounts (not recommended)
  • Consider who truly needs access

If you have seasonal needs:

  • Stay on higher plan for busy season
  • Downgrade during quiet period
