If you need to delete your Zenovay account, this guide explains the process and what happens to your data. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before You Delete

Consider These Alternatives

Before permanently deleting your account:

  • Downgrade to Free: Keep your account with limited features
  • Cancel subscription: Stop paying but maintain account access
  • Export data first: Download your analytics for records
  • Transfer ownership: Give the account to a team member

What Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account:

What Won't Be Deleted

Pre-Deletion Checklist

Export Your Data

Download analytics and account data you want to keep. Go to SettingsAccountExport My Data.

Cancel Active Subscriptions

Ensure you've canceled any paid plans first. Go to SettingsBillingCancel Plan.

Remove Team Members

If you own teams, transfer ownership or remove members.

Backup API Integrations

Note any API keys or integrations that will stop working.

Remove Tracking Code

Remove Zenovay tracking scripts from your websites.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Make sure you've exported everything you need.

How to Delete Your Account

Go to Account Settings

Navigate to SettingsAccount.

Scroll to Danger Zone

Find the Danger Zone section at the bottom.

Click Delete Account

Click the Delete Account button.

Confirm Identity

Enter your password and MFA code (if enabled).

Type Confirmation

Type "DELETE" to confirm you understand this is permanent.

Final Confirmation

Click Permanently Delete Account.

After Deletion

Immediate Effects

  • You're logged out everywhere
  • Email/password no longer work
  • API keys stop working immediately
  • Tracking scripts return errors
  • Team members lose access to your resources

30-Day Waiting Period

Some data enters a 30-day deletion queue:

  • You can contact support within 30 days to cancel deletion
  • After 30 days, all data is permanently erased
  • This cannot be recovered after the 30-day period

Website Tracking

Your tracking scripts will:

  • Stop collecting new data
  • Return errors (won't affect your website)
  • Should be removed to avoid console errors

Team Owner Considerations

If you own teams or organizations:

Before Deleting

  1. Transfer ownership: Assign a new owner
  2. Or dissolve the team: Remove all members first
  3. Cannot delete with active team: You'll be blocked if you're the sole owner

Navigate to SettingsTeam.

Select Transfer Ownership

Find Transfer Ownership in the settings.

Choose New Owner

Select an existing team member.

Confirm Transfer

Both parties must confirm the transfer.

Active Subscription

If you have an active paid plan:

  • Annual plans: Contact support for prorated refunds
  • Enterprise: Contact your account manager

GDPR Right to Erasure

Under GDPR, you have the right to erasure. Account deletion fulfills this right:

  • Personal data is deleted
  • Analytics data is deleted

Troubleshooting

Cannot Delete Account

You may be blocked if:

  • You own teams (transfer ownership first)
  • You have active subscriptions (cancel first)
  • There's a billing issue (resolve first)
  • Account is under investigation (contact support)

Delete Button Not Working

  1. Ensure you're the account owner
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Contact support if issues persist

Need Data After Deletion Request

If you realize you need data after requesting deletion:

  • Contact support immediately
  • Within 30 days, deletion may be cancellable
  • After 30 days, data cannot be recovered

Re-creating an Account

After deletion, you can create a new account:

  • Use the same or different email
  • All settings start fresh
  • No data is recovered from deleted account
  • New tracking codes are issued

Enterprise Account Deletion

Enterprise Plan

Enterprise accounts have special considerations:

  • Contact your account manager
  • May require organization admin approval
  • SLA contract terms may apply
  • Custom data retention agreements honored

Will deletion stop charges?

No, cancel your subscription first. Deletion doesn't automatically cancel billing.

Can I use my email again?

Yes, after deletion you can sign up with the same email for a new account.

How long until data is fully deleted?

All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

Will my website be affected?

The tracking script will stop working. It won't break your site, but you should remove it.

Can support restore my account?

Only within the 30-day waiting period. After that, no recovery is possible.
